If guests are going to feed the animals they are asked to feed them responsibly as a number of the wildlife's digestive systems are sensitive and feeding them the wrong food, particularly maize and mealie pips cause fermentation, producing gas which causes colic in ruminants and, in severe cases, death. Experts advise that it is acceptable to give Kudu or Zebra tasty morsels such as cut up sweet potato, pumpkin, carrot, banana, cabbage and paw-paw in small quantities. A well placed banana in a tree will always attract the lesser bushbaby and the thick-tailed bush baby after dark. The birdlife enjoy most of the fruit or bread that is put out for them during the day.

Do not throw spoiled food into the garden as this could introduce alien bacteria into the stomach of an animal making it sick. You are asked NOT to feed the monkeys and baboons, no mater how cute they may look.
